Brooklyn Nine-Nine has background character developments and always had a deft mix of standalone episodes. The previous year, this centred on Holt's campaign to become police commissioner and its complications with mobster Seamus Murphy, and then Jack and Amy's wedding. The Season 5 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine ended with the couple getting married.
The season 6 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine will immediately have to deal with Holt's future and the potential changes him being made commissioner could mean. Longer term, Jake and Amy will be continuing as colleagues and have to deal with being newly-weds.
